Nurturing Connections offers numerous modalities of support, with the most comprehensive being in home lactation support and telehealth breastfeeding support. No matter which modality you choose, I will intently listen to your concerns and create a personalized care plan based on your individual assessment and the needs of your baby, you, and your family. All assessments and documentation are professionally charted, HIPAA secure, and can be sent to your healthcare provider for review. Copies can also be emailed upon request. 

I will suggest resources and include evidence-based education to provide a clear understanding of what is necessary to improve and resolve your breastfeeding challenges.

In home lactation support visits will be custom tailored to your family's environment. A professional scale will be available for each visit to provide a pre/post weight (gives accurate milk transfer from breast to baby) and for weight checks. Gentle oral assessments, latch techniques, pump fit/guidance, engorgement, bottle feeding, and back to work care plans are examples of the lactation services provided. Other tools will be brought to your home along with guidance on where to find any suggested items. Additionally, telehealth breastfeeding support options are available to complement your in-home experience.

Telehealth breastfeeding support is an excellent way to identify breastfeeding issues from the comfort of your home. I have experience in telehealth assessments through triage and comprehensive evaluations. Many of the same assessments and interventions offered in home lactation support can be provided via telehealth. For instance, we can address oral assessments, latching techniques, pump fit/guidance, milk supply issues, engorgement, bottle feeding, and create back to work care plans. I have numerous tools that will be used to demonstrate any advice given! *Please note that telehealth is not a good fit if your baby is having weight issues or is preterm/late-preterm.
